William Moroney

William Moroney currently serves as a Non-Executive Director with Securetec Capital a financial sales enablement company with offices in London, Singapore and Dubai. He is also an Advisory Board Member at Saescada, a global digital banking platform provider based in London.

Having spent almost two decades in the Middle East, William has held senior roles at Finastra (formally Misys), Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Transguard Group (Emirates Group). His experience spans software, hardware, managed services and outsourcing as well as financial services for technology projects.

William has focused on B2B sales for his entire career having led a team of over 60 at Transguard Group where he also served as Acting CIO for some of his time there.

He is currently the Vice Chairperson of the Irish Business Network in Dubai.

William started his career in the late nineties as a business consultant in the banking industry helping banks around the world prepare their processes and systems for Y2K.

William moved into sales in 2000 when he moved to Bahrain to work as an Account Manager with Kindle Banking Systems covering the Levant (Lebanon, Syria, Jordan), Egypt and Iraq region. When Kindle was acquired by Misys Banking Systems he moved to Dubai where he became a Country Manager covering different regions across the Middle East until he left Misys in 2007.

In 2007 William joined Daon, a Dermot Desmond company, to open the market in the Middle East. He opened the sales office in Dubai and went on to sign many deals in this new region for Daon including Qatar Ministry of Interior, Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indian Unified ID Project. The Indian UID Project was and still is the largest single biometric project in the world.

Hewlett Packard decided to open HP Financial Services in Dubai in 2011 which launched HP’s successful captive finance arm in the Middle East region. William was the first employee of HPFS ME and was instrumental in opening the office in DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre) as well as hiring the local team and building up the business in the region. Major deals included UAE Ministry of Education, UAE Ministry of Interior and Al Mannai Corporation in Qatar.

William’s most recent role has been with Transguard Group in the UAE. Transguard Group, an Emirates Group subsidiary is an outsourcing services company supplying Security Services, Cash Services, HR Outsourcing Services and Facilities Services to the UAE market. In less than 4 years William built up a team of 35 sales and marketing professionals and was instrumental in increasing Transguard Group revenue from over 700M AED to 2.3B AED. Transguard Group currently employs 70,000 in the UAE and has over 1,500 customers across the country.

In June 2018 William was appointed as an Advisory Board Member at Saescada, a global digital banking platform provider based in London. He provides strategic direction on market penetration and new product development.

In September 2018 William joined Securetec Capital as a Non-Executive Director. Securetec Capital is a global sales enablement and financial advisory firm serving the high-tech industry.
