Jim is the CEO and co-founder of two innovative companies: NuLumenTek and NuEnergyTek specialising in energy-efficient lighting design and supply.
Established in 2012, NuLumenTek specializes in energy-efficient lighting design and supply, operating in Ireland, the UK, and across the Middle East, Nulumentek has delivered some of the largest and most complex lighting projects in the world including the Doha metro, design and supply of all lighting systems for the new build and retrofit of over 500,000M2 of multi-site manufacturing plants for the largest food producer in KSA and most recently the 60 floor office block for Riyadh bank HQ in King Abdullah financial district.
Nulumentek are involved in the majority of Tier one mega projects in Saudi Arabia and have delivered projects in 12 countries to date.
NuEnergyTek focuses on reducing commercial energy consumption through data-driven analysis, advanced monitoring technologies, and professional energy audits. The company leverages monitoring technologies to provide scalable energy solutions to help businesses meet their decarbonization goals and comply with ESG, CSRD, and other regulatory frameworks
Before founding NuLumenTek, Jim had over 20 years of experience delivering large-scale electro-mechanical engineering projects. He progressed through every level of the construction industry from engineering and project management to serving as a main board director for a leading global engineering firm.
His international project portfolio includes pharmaceutical facilities such as the GlaxoSmithKline campus in Stevenage and Boston Scientific in Cork; hotels like the Peninsula in Bangkok and the Hempel in London; commercial buildings including the Norman Foster-designed ITN headquarters and studios in London and the Samba Bank HQ in Riyadh; and major healthcare projects like Guy’s Hospital in London, Cork University Hospital’s renal oncology unit, and two hospitals in the Turks & Caicos Islands.
Jim first entered the Middle East market in 2009/10 with the Rotary Group, where he served as a board director in Ireland and led the $120M delivery of the Samba Bank HQ in Riyadh. He also represented Rotary on the joint venture board of directors for its Saudi operations.
Jim is a co-founder of SEFA the “sustainable energy finance association” based in Brussels and has a number of other business interests in the Middle east where he has been active for over 15 years.
